V^3 Review of Warheads

What do you get when you mix sugar, corn glucose syrup, acid (296, 330), antioxidant (300), colours (133, 129, 102) with black cherry, lemon, apple, watermelon and blue raspberry flavouring?

I'll tell you what you get. An evil candy which strikes fear into unknowing victims that have felt its wrath.

This sinister hard candy will make even the most sour enthusiasts cringe their lips. If you were looking for a fun and innocent candy to suit a nice family day out, do not choose this. Known to man; only as "Warheads", this was a childhood favourite of mine because I as a child, trained my taste-buds to feel no pain.

Entering into adulthood, I decided to see whether or not I still had what it took to endure what this candy had to offer.

As the packet states, it has a sour rating of "Extreme", and thus it is not a force to be reckoned with.

The following flavours are:
Black Cherry - an amalgamation of cherry, black and stupid sour make this flavour enjoyable.
Lemon - the citrus bang fused with a nuclear lemon seed are the only words that can be used to describe this flavour.
Apple - the most sinister of flavours, can only be described as being a blend of green apples and lemon juice, minus the lemon.
Watermelon - among weaker of flavours captures the true essence of the watermelon fruit whilst giving you spine tingling sourness.
Blue Raspberry - my least favourite of the group. Though tasty, it lacks oomph which makes the candy taste generic.

Sure this candy is more of a novelty than a real candy, and that the novelty does wear off. However, if you're up for trying something new, give these babies a shot. Overall, they are quite enjoyable, though my only criticism would be that the sourness did not last long enough.

V^3 gives Warheads 3/5.
