Weather Girls

"Clear blue skies with a top of thirty degrees today, beautiful day for a picnic"

These are the only words looping through my head when I watch Channel 9 or 7's weather coverage. If most of you don't know, two professional and clearly talented women- Natalia Cooper and Rebecca Twigley host these segments. So the question is, the Coop or the Twig? I’ll help you decide.

Through hard work (dedication to you loyal readers), I have created a comparative scale with a score, I have tried to be as fair as possible, but please understand, to each his own.

Weather Announcing:
Natalia Cooper: Having this job longer has given her more experience. This is evident in her comfortable presentation of the weather. She announces the weather clearly and confidently without any hesitation.
Score: 10/10

Rebecca Twigley: Being somewhat newer to this position, Rebecca Twigley handles herself in a very professional manner. Her weather announcement is also clear and on par with that of Natalia’s.
Score: 10/10

Okay, this is where it really counts...we’re all shallow.

Weather Presentation Fashion:
Natalia Cooper: Her choice of clothing is casual, but not informal. She looks comfortable and not over-flashy, definitely easy on the eyes. Her hair is usually worn down which once again, makes her look more casual and laid back. Perhaps changing her hair would be a nice addition to her already terrific face.
Score: 10/10

Rebecca Twigley: Her clothes seem more corporate, which some may think, suits the news station better as it is more of a corporate environment. Her hair is also worn down, but is styled in a more professional manner. I would easily give her 11/10 if she wore that red Brownlow dress every night. Alas, we can’t win’em all.
Score: 10/10

The famous red Brownlow dress worn by Rebecca Twigley

Face:
These two lovely ladies have faces that other women would kill for. I do however; prefer Natalia Cooper, her faces oozes modesty, whilst Twigley clearly flaunts her model looks.

The Gorgeous Natalia Cooper...the only image I could find.

Conclusion:
The two fine women who grace the weather presenting stage on Channel 9 and 7 both have their qualities. They are both talented weather presenters who have looks to die for. However, there can only be one winner, and that winner is…none. The only true weather presenter is Channel 10’s Michael Schultz…that sexy monotone beast.

Just kidding folks, I can’t choose between the two, so why don’t you choose for me!

Who is the most attractive weathergirl?
Rebecca Twigley
Natalia Cooper

V^3 Food Review: Jumbo Mi Goreng

Mi Goreng; the staple diet of many students and the lifeblood of many late night snackers. One of the foods that you probably couldn't improve...

...Until now.

Presenting JUMBO Mi Goreng! This evolution of Mi Goreng has made this bad boy badder than ever. As you can see, the size has increased quite substantially, and it's not just the bag. Inside, you will find that the iconic rectangle of non-cooked noodle goodness which was once seen as a joke in size live up to its "Jumbo" name. My friends, this feller is an actual meal now.

With the increase in noodle volume, you also get larger flavour packets which have (probably) been scientifically measured to achieve maximum happiness. The noodles themselves have slightly changed as they are slightly flatter. Whilst it might not tickle everyone's pickle, I found that it was equally as nice to eat as the original Mi Goreng noodle. I for one, do not enjoy Mi Goreng unless it has been cooked in a pot as I find kettle-cooked Mi Goreng is less satisfying in texture.

I recommend anyone who does not find the normal Mi Goreng filling enough to give this one a try as it will not only taste as good, but it will actually fill your tummy up.

Cereal, More Than a Breakfast Food?

Cereal. More than just morning food?

There are times, late at night when my nocturnal hunger screams to be satisfied. Sure, I could have some hot food, such as the all mighty Mi Goreng or a healthier alternative, a piece of fruit.

Not only can you add such healthy ingredients into your cereal such as milk and pieces of fruit, there is also a fucking huge variety of cereals itself you can choose from, which make it one of the kings of late night snack foods.

I have argued (usually with myself) whether or not cereal is actually better as a late night snack than a breakfast food. Here is my verdict, it is based on a couple tests I have set:

1. Does it taste better at night than in the morning?
Well, I find that it does taste better at night because my taste buds has not been altered by that freshly brushed teeth feeling, i.e. making pieces of fruit within the cereal taste sour.

2. Does it feel better to eat it at night?
Yes, early in the morning, nothing is worse (well for me) than having cold liquid running down my throat and loud crunching in my ear. Most of you would have to agree that you're pretty grumpy in the morning and that you'd rather have some peace and quiet whilst you're recovering from your sleep...Or a hangover.

3. Healthier to eat it at night?
Probably not, see, the adding of milk to the cereal will make you sleepy after consumption, which is highly likely to lead you to go to bed. And whilst it's not that bad to sleep once in a while straight after a meal, it has been said to be an unhealthy practice if done regularly.

4. Easier to make at night?
No, adding milk to cereal is not easier to make at night. I have timed myself adding milk to the cereal at night and in the morning, and I have found that there is no time difference as it is not easier to pour milk into cereal at night than in the morning.

Conclusion:
So there you have it folks, semi-scientific proof that cereal does in fact, make a better night snack than a breakfast food.

Barney Meets The World

Since the beginning of time, people have always pushed the boundaries of speed and aerodynamics. Many people have tried to create machines which could perfect both. Crafted by skilled mechanical hands in japan, I bring you Barney.

Barney is a 1996 Toyota Corolla Seca RV, which is Keppel Blue in colour. It is a 5 gear stick shift with a twin cam 1.8L engine.

Design:
Though not as flashy as many other cars on the market, what Barney lacks in style, it makes up in aerodynamics. Barney is able to cut through the air, much like a hot knife through a tub of butter. The deadly combination of sleek curves and lines make Barney a fierce beast on Perth's roads.

Many people are fooled by Barney's colour. Don't let it's colour fool you folks, because Keppel Blue (not purple), actually, believe it or not, makes the car just as fast as a red one.

Barney's alloy wheels, whilst not exactly "chromes" or "the shit", work well with his well shaped body, and add a sense of sophistication, whilst at the same time telling everyone "I'm a down to earth type of car".

The interior is quite luxurious as it accentuates gentle curves with black and grey pieces fitted together in perfect unison. It's minimal design, whilst to some people may say "hey, I'm cheap", to me, it screams "simple is sexy". Nothing is out of place in Barney as his interiors were just as thought out as his sexy exterior.

Mods:
Barney is hardly a stock vehicle as he has been fitted with suave black, grey and red "Rally Sport" seat covers, and an extremely comfortable steering wheel cover, which match each other perfectly.

Function & Performance:
Barney is equipped with a magnificent steering wheel, which seems to turn the road somehow when moved. It is assisted with a power steering system which makes driving a breeze.

The 5 gear manual gearbox is standard with most toyota economy class vehicles. It might not look pretty, but it gets the job done. Remember, the quality and smoothness of the ride doesn't depend on the car, but the driver.

The 1.8L twin cam engine makes Barney a swift competitor among australian roads. Barney has won his fair share of races against other Perth road beasts including Hyundai Excels and Ford Lasers. This engine gives more than enough torque for the average driver, and may even satisfy the tastes of some rev-heads.

Some of the editors of this blog have felt the quality of Barney's ride:
"...the soft suspension dampens the bumps on the road, thus relieving my buttocks of the hard kancho-ness (read as "ass pain"). A slight shudder from bad clutch work also provides a good massage. Barney's air-con could be better..." - Mike Nguyen

"...The acceleration is comparable to a porsche. Incredible, without being uncomfortable. Mindblowing without being head-exploding.
It is the perfect balance of awesome and refinement
That is, the essence of the barney..."
- Pete Nguyen

Conclusion:
Barney is a marvel of mechanics, aerodynamics and awesome. A machine which excels in the aspects of driving, parking and pimping, it is a car that everyone should have, I advise you to go buy one now!

Here are some more raunchy pics to get your blood pumping.
